H2H Challenge - Stylish and Classy

When I say "stylish and classy", what do you think of? I automatically think "black and white".

Black and white stripes really make my heart sing! My scrap room is decorated with black and white totes from Thirty One. I keep Felicity Jane boxes long after I've used the kit contents. Spotting this Betsy Johnson purse in the mall in Atlanta made me gasp out loud...and I don't even carry a purse, ever.

So of course, for the Stylish and Classy themed challenge, I think of a black and white card.

Here's my contribution:

You may recognize this "flower" as the dress from the Quinceanera stamp set in the Annual Inspirations catalog just released this month from Close to my Heart. The "thanks" is from the September Stamp of the Month (a lovely set, actually) called Feel So Blessed. Of course, Offray's black and white microcheck ribbon is a staple in my craft room--it ties so easily and is the universal ribbon.

I think there could be many uses for this sweet dress stamp beyond the quinceanera. I'm going to keep working with it often.

CTMH Technique Blog Hop - Crazy about Cardstock

Welcome! This is my new adventure into designing with Close to my Heart products. Thanks for being among the first to tag along on the Technique Blog Hop - Crazy for Cardstock!

I'm sure you've heard the news by now--Close to my Heart has made a significant improvement to their cardstock collection. Beginning back on August 1, (when the 2017-2018 catalog went live) the  CTMH cardstock  is two-toned! The paper we already love for its white core is now doing double duty with a slightly lighter color on the back.

The slightly lighter tone on the back of the original colors will allow for more nuanced color selections within your favorite projects--both cards and scrapbook pages.

Today I'm participating in the Close to my Heart Technique Blog Hop, featuring this newly-improved product!

You probably arrived here to my brand new blog by way of Michelle John's blog - My Flights of Fancy. Welcome!

We have 10 participating blogs and at each stop on the blog hop you can become more familiar with the many creative uses of the newly-redesigned CTMH Cardstock! I'm sure it will come as no surprise to anyone that I crafted a scrapbook page for the occasion. (That's kindof my thing.) :)

Using CTMH cardstock is not new to me--its a standard supply in my arsenal of scrapbooking paper. In addition to now being 2-toned, it tears like butter! It is the perfect weight for paper tearing and that is the technique that I am featuring today.

I confess to being a purist when it comes to cardstock. I love quality and simplicity of selection. When you choose to work within the color families that CTMH has grouped together for you, you can always be assured that your projects will be colorful and visually satisfying. CTMH Cardstock tears smoothly and as you can see, the white core feature that has always been a standard for this product adds an extra layer of texture and attraction.

I cut the Marker Alphabet letters (E1034) out by hand--a look I often utilize in my scrapbooking. I like how easy it is to cut letters individually after having stamped them on CTMH cardstock. It holds up to the intricate detail cutting but is not so heavy that I end up with hand-cramps at the end of my nightly paper-crafting sessions.

(The stamp in the upper left above the marker letters is from the Stamp of the Month set being offered in September! Stay tuned for more about that in just a few days.)

Thanks for taking a peek at the new cardstock being offered. Remember you can purchase Close to my Heart cardstocks in single-color packs or in variety packs. You can shop via my website by clicking here.

If you happen to get lost amongst the group of participating blogs, jump back to Melissa Robinson's blog -  to see the entire list.

Your next stop on the Crazy for Cardstock hop is Annemarie Julian's blog - Scrap-n-Roll!

Card to Page--Friend Time

My friends at The Scrap Gals at conducting another round of the #100daysproject known as #sg100daysproject.

I'm participating sorta. I am taking this opportunity to demonstrate that if you can make a handmade card (like so many stampers do), you can definitely make a scrapbook page. Welcome to #cardtopage. Approximately every day (ok maybe a couple times a week), I will post a hand stamped card. Then, one the following day, I will post a page layout made using the card!

Here's my first installment of #cardtopage--designed with the Close to my Heart Prickly Pear Scrapbooking Stamp Set (D1722).

And here's the scrapbook page:
